These are supposed to be like those biscuits that everyone is obsessed with from that famous seafood chain restaurant. But I haven’t been there in a long time, and these are a little bit healthier. So I don’t really care either way. This recipe makes 12.
2 Cups Flour
1/4 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
2 Teaspoons Sugar
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
2 Garlic Cloves
1 Cup Soy Milk [or Milk]
The topping [optional]:
4 Tablespoons Butter
1/2 Teaspoon Dried Parsley
A shake of paprika [for color]
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Grease a baking sheet. Put the oven rack on an upper middle position.
1. Mix the dry ingredients together. Pour in the milk last. Mix until it just comes together. Don’t over mix.
2. Drop by big spoonfuls onto the baking sheet.
3. Bake for 15 minutes, or until just about to turn brown. 12-13 minutes was good for me.
While in the oven, make the butter topping. Melt butter and mix in a pinch of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley, paprika, and a pinch of salt. Pour over biscuits when they come out of the oven.
